Energy. And specifically, intentionally directing your energy to affect your state.
Your state is the energetic catalyst that brings matter into physical form, and it factors in SO much more than any funnel, ad, campaign, or social media platform.
The truth is, we can manipulate energy to create everything it is we want: income, number of clients, the type of client you call in, relationships, opportunities, everything.
Did I know all of this when I hung out my virtual shingle way back in early 2009?
Not at all. I was a marketing coach, who hired her own marketing coaches, and pretty much believed good marketing was the be all, end all.
So I hustled, spent many late nights behind my laptop, and ran myself ragged doing all the things: tactics, strategies, long discovery calls, creating funnels, running ads, networking, you name it.
I looked around me at the others in my industry and it just seemed like… that’s what you had to do.
Fast forward a bit, and several years into my business I ended up in a relationship that turned out to be emotionally abusive.
It left me wrecked for awhile, but it ended up being the catalyst for a profound healing journey, as these experiences often are.
It led me to what I believe was a spiritual awakening, and this didn’t just affect me personally, but it also affected who I am in my business, as well.
You’ve probably heard other coaches talk about the importance of “mindset.”
I used to talk about it too… thinking it was about 10% of the equation.
What I realized was that actually only scratches the surface. It’s something much deeper than that.
Essentially, I saw why my clients could diligently put into practice everything I taught them, have a great offer nailed down, be showing up, be building an audience… and still feel like something was missing.
What became clearer to me than ever was this: when it comes to deliberately creating what you want, what truly moves the needle is:
1) Your self concept – how you view and what you believe about yourself, and;
2) Knowing it is done (a.k.a. living in the end, or living from the state of the wish fulfilled).
Study any New Thought leader, manifestation teacher, spiritual guru, etc. and you will see they are all coming to the same conclusion, just saying it in different ways or applying varying techniques.
If I had to put it into one word, it would be this: STATE. A state is simply your attitude, beliefs, sense of self, and the assumptions you make. It’s where you dwell, the majority of the time.
In other words, 90% of your results come as a result of who you are BEING.
- Feeling exhausted and drained from working SO hard, yet not having the results to match.
- Being paralyzed from moving forward, and feeling scared or unclear about the next steps (especially as marketing gets more complicated and convoluted!)
- Habits of self sabotage that have kept you from the wildly successful, hugely profitable business you know you’re meant for.
- Trying all kinds of “manifestation” practices that never get you closer to your goals.
- Struggling with trusting yourself and setting strong boundaries, and often handing your power away.
- Feeling that “There must be more to life than this,” but not knowing how to create it!
The good news is, you can learn how to consciously select the state you express. (And it doesn’t mean you have to spend years in therapy first. Far from it.)
When you change your state and by extension your self concept, you can literally watch the world around you change.
Which means – and this is BIG – you have full control over creating absolutely everything you want.
Life responds to us based on our state. What we experience in the 3D is only showing us what our concept of ourselves is, and we’re in total control of that.
If you were to pause for a moment and review which state(s) you most often reside in, what would it tell you?
Does it align to the life you want?
Is it putting yourself in the position you wish to be in?
For myself previously, I would answer those questions with a resounding “No.”
It was more likely I was habitually dwelling in unease, pressure, and thinking I couldn’t ever deviate from the way I’ve always done things… otherwise it would somehow all fall apart.
Which meant I was spending the majority of time doing things that made me unhappy, thinking thoughts that brought on anxiety, and feeling trapped by a business that no longer lit me up.
Given that I had just come through one of the most challenging times in my personal life, I couldn’t just throw my hands up and say, “Well, in this area of my life, I guess that’s just the way it’s going to be.”
Because I knew that wasn’t the truth. I knew I wasn’t meant to just settle and grind it out.

Because of my own experiences and dedicating myself to the inner work, so many areas of life have started to expand and open up.
My life has started to feel truly unlimited, for the first time in my life.
I make more empowered decisions and take more deliberate action. Old patterns have been dissolving.
